About Us

Impact Art is a husband and wife team. Jonathan Grange is the artist and designer and Lisa Grange is the Admin and Sales and Marketing side to the team.

Jonathan Grange has been an airbrush artist for 25 years. He has done murals of differing sizes and designs, paintings on canvas, surf art on wood, t-shirts, cars, boats, trucks, campervans etc... Jonathan has painted many murals for The Rodney and North Shore Councils, on toilet block walls and the Murrays Bay tunnel walkway. He has appeared in The Rodney Times, The North Shore Times and The North Harbour News.

Jonathan has also painted privately commissioned murals both for residential and businesses i.e. a childcare centre in Orewa and an underwater dolphin mural at the shops in Manly, Whangaparaoa. In November 2009, Jonathan was awarded second place equal in the Resene Mural Masterpieces Professional Category (see picture on Enquiries & Orders page).

This was a great achievement as it was Jonathan's first time entering a competition. The mural was of a waterfall with beautiful native bush and birds and was a privately commissioned mural in residential Auckland. The Surf Art has stemmed from Jonathan's love of the surf and sea and the beautiful beach scenes that New Zealand has to offer. He is particularly passionate about water and light.

Jonathan's surf art boards are all hand made from wood with or without fins and have differing shapes and two sizes. They are shaped, sanded and stained by hand. Jonathan then airbrush paints exquisite wave, surf and beach scenes on the boards. He also adds iconic symbols to some designs like the Hibiscus flower or cars like the VW Kombi or the Ford Woody.
